Planned ground investigations and surveys (Autumn 2026)
We are currently planning a programme of surveys across parts of the Springwell Solar Farm site to help inform the detailed design of the project and future construction methods.
Subject to the relevant approvals being obtained, we expect to begin these surveys from October 2026 onwards and continue through the autumn and winter months. The surveys will include:
- Archaeological investigations
- Ground investigations
- Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) surveys
These surveys form part of the normal pre-construction activities required to develop the detailed design of the consented project. They do not involve the construction of the solar farm itself.
Residents may see survey teams, specialist vehicles and equipment at locations across the site during this period. We will work to minimise disruption wherever possible and will provide further information on timings and locations once the programme has been confirmed.
We recognise that some of this activity may take place close to homes, public rights of way and local roads. Ahead of surveys commencing, we will contact nearby residents where appropriate and provide updates through this website.
